|Thomas Kemble Crichton, age 59, died unexpectedly in mid-December of heart failure. He was the son of Oliver and Katherine Crichton of Wilmington, both deceased. He is survived by sisters E.G. and Jo Ellen Crichton, brothers David and Oliver Crichton, Jr., and five cousins in Maine, New Hampshire and Philadelphia.
Respected as a gifted therapist, Tom worked as a family therapist with Delaware Guidance Services and at SOAR, Inc. (Survivors of Abuse in Recovery), both in Wilmington. He was a graduate of Tower Hill School, University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, and the University of Colorado. He was a licensed counselor, a practitioner of acupuncture and Oriental medicine, and certified in Somatic Experiencing, Hakomi therapy and Auricular Therapy.
Tom also engaged in a life-long exploration of spirituality and creativity, including Tibetan Buddhism and the international Sufi movement. He taught dance and writing in the Interplay community and was passionate about music, bicycling, poetry and cooking.
